Sleepless in Seattle!

Hello from Seattle! The weather has been perfect and we've already seen many things since arriving here at 10 pm Wednesday night. We didn't get to our exchange home until 11 pm and by the time we unpacked and went to bed it was midnight. For those of you keeping score at home, that is 2 am Minnesota time and we were exhausted. I woke up at 5:30 (7:30 per my body clock) and I was tired but awake. It also meant that I crashed and burned last night at 9 pm and didn't write about our day yesterday, so here goes:

Our first full day in Seattle we visited the Space Needle and the Pop Culture Museum. Here are pictures of some things we saw on the way:
Jimi Hendrix info in the sidewalk.

This cool building with trees growing inside of it. Don't know what it is and only open to the public "by appointment only the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month".
MoPop or the Museum of Pop Culture.
Part of the Chihuly Garden and Museum. We will visit on another day.

 The Space Needle!

 The top of MoPop
 Standing on the glass floor.

Those giant spiders are painted on the roof of the building, made to look 3D.
Stairway to the Pearl Jam exhibit at MoPop

Part of the Pearl Jam exhibit. I'm such a fan.

From the SciFi and Horror movie exhibits

I couldn't resist the pose.

Alien!

From the Walking Dead series

Don and Gort the robot from The Day the Earth Stood Still.
Robin Williams Mork suit from Mork and Mindy

A tornado of instruments

From the exhibition "A Queen Within - Adorned Archetypes"

Me trying to play the drums in the sound lab and utterly failing.

We also saw small exhibits about Prince, Jimi Hendrix, and the Guitar Gallery. We did not look at the Indie Game Revolution exhibit but I'm sure my grandsons would have liked to see it.
Part of the Chihuly garden seen from outside the exhibit.

Seattle is very hilly and we have to walk downhill and then uphill to our place from the light rail station. So, we are walking uphill both ways!
